Auston LeRoy

Auston's Agentic AI Consulting Services

Hello! Whether a small business or large corporation, starting from square one or strapping wings to the plane mid-flight, let's figure out how to make AI work for you!

AI powered technology should be accessible to all humankind, treated as a tool, applied intelligently to improve our lives.

How it works

  1. Browse the catalog. Add ticket(s) to the work order. Check out in the upper right hand corner.
  2. Select your desired delivery dates. Fill in as much information (or as little) as you want.
  3. A real live person (me!) will review it, do some research and email you back.

Design system inspired by triplicate carbonless copy paper, a tribute to a simpler time.

Services

The offerings below are just examples of the types of service I can provide across a wide range of industries and organizational sizes. The catalog is piecemeal, but the 4 SKUs are a complete package.

Priced on a sliding scale. Available for hourly, weekly, or embedded engagements.

AAA-01

Anchor

AI hardware/software reseller - The Big Blue Model

Like the IBM resellers of the 90s, I sell you the machine and make it work. Deploying free open source models, using tools backed by the Linux Foundation, on your OS of choice. That is a moat that protects your company's core competencies.

What you get

  • Cost reduction: offset frontier API spend with ROI you can calculate (see the ROI calculator below).
  • Control: your data stays in house, you choose what reaches frontier models, no lock in.
  • Consistency: no midday outages, no revoked access, no censorship.
  • Collaboration: replace your workers machines instead of them, cutting edge hardware working 24 hours a day for your business. In the hands of your team during the workday, and AI agents the other 16 hours a day.

Assemble

Prototyping is the new Product spec.

Let me provide an MVP (minimum viable product) for you to iterate on. Turn words into functional software. Tell me what you like, what you want changed, exactly as you want it. We can iterate together in real-time.

What you get

  • Functional Prototypes: Not AI slop. An extensible core, designed to grow with you, not become another piece of outdated legacy tech.
  • Detailed Documentation: For both humans and Agentic Coding Assistance able to scale rapidly.
  • Foundational Code: A solid bedrock built on over 10 years of startup, engineering and product work. I have seen what works, and seen what happens when it does not.
  • Clear roadmaps: with a personal handoff to ensure that your idea gets exactly where you want to go and the tools to make you feel confident in its potential.

A³: Architect · Automate · Augment

Let's make technology 10x it.

Hire me as an individual contributor to design complex systems, leverage automation to improve operational efficiency and augment your business. You get senior judgment on the team, not another seat to manage.

What you get

  • Architect: detailed system design built with AI, not by AI, including a build vs. buy call.
  • Automate: tedious or repetitive tasks with the right tool for the job, wired into how you already work.
  • Augment: your existing team with an agentic workflow tuned to each person. AI adapts to us, not the other way around.

Auston³ (Auston's Agentic AI) Consulting Services

Consultant, Current

My foray into agentic AI and its capabilities, taking a model agnostic approach. I built my own benchmarks and shipped multiple apps across platforms, building my own dev workflow on local and frontier models. Now offering consulting services to others.

MaxRetail Inc.

Product Manager, 2023-2024

Managed a high-growth pod on data ingestion and integrations, building Shopify and LightSpeed apps and aligning platform behavior. Shipped internal AI tools on custom ChatGPT chatbots with API integrations, and shaped the product roadmap through the Series A raise.

GovOS

Product Manager, 2023

Managed the Short Term Rentals pod with a rolling 12 month roadmap. Cut backlog hours by over 85% through agile process and collaborative sprint planning, and shipped ADA compliant WCAG 2.1 interfaces with a responsive UI toolkit.

JOOR Inc.

Integrations Manager -> Associate Product Management, 2021-2022

Started in integrations, onboarding clients end to end from sales kick-off to go-live across their ERP systems and their wholesale APIs. Moved to product to lead the Data Pod on a new GraphQL API, running stand-ups and unblocking the team across 5 time zones.

Info Directions Inc.

Software Support -> Engineering Support, 2016-2018

Tier 1 and 2 support for enterprise SaaS telecom customers on SOC 2 systems. Wrote and shipped infoscripts and SQL fixes to production, backed CostGuard API developers, and ran disaster recovery on FCC compliant systems.

TracFone Wireless Inc.

Consulting: Data Management Analyst, 2015

Consulted on the data throttling program: heavy SQL and Excel over large data sets, trend analysis, and executive reporting. Worked Call Detail Records in a confidential high-volume environment and helped QA roll out the new Policy Charging and Rules Function (PCRF).

APPture LLC

Founder & Chief Wizard, 2012-2014

The idea that started it all: connecting my Surface tablet to my TV grew into an open, local-first platform where any device could cast to, control, and share with the others over peer-to-peer. OS agnostic across Windows, Android, iOS, Linux, and Mac. Never got the funding, but 15 years later Fable 5 nullified the need. Check out M.O.S.I.S below.

  • Recipient of Rochester Institute of Technology's Innovation Grant
  • 2nd Place in RIT's Shark Tank 2012

Work Product

Things I have built and shipped. Hope it serves as inspiration for you and proof of my capabilities.

SKU-001

Prospectra

A Clippy style desktop buddy for working with databases.

Prospectra was the pilot for my consulting services. A former co-founder needed a data buddy like Clippy for raw tables, something that works with modern AI tools and runs cross-platform. There is a working Windows/Mac/Linux app on my GitHub and a blog post on the whole build.

  • App: Windows, Mac, and Linux builds on GitHub.
  • Write-up: a blog post walks the full process.
  • Contribute: request features or contribute on GitHub.

SKU-002

The Gallows Way

Kitchen table rummy for iPhone, one price and no tracking.

A card game for iPhone based on the family rummy we play at the kitchen table. One price, no IAPs, no ads, no tracking, with offline play and global rankings. Built on Apple's stack with App Clips, so a link is enough to challenge a friend.

  • Single purchase: no IAPs, no ads, no tracking.
  • Play: offline plus global rankings.
  • Challenges: App Clips from a link.
  • Challenge: free demo game via a link, give it a try with my challenge code.

SKU-003

Schlr

Learn-scroll any topic, with quizzes that level with you.

Bored? Why doomscroll when you can learn-scroll. Pick any topic and get an infinite scroll of related topics, plus quizzes that get harder as you learn. It runs on Apple's Private Cloud Compute frontier model and fact checks against Wikipedia.

  • Scroll: infinite related topics down the rabbit hole.
  • Quizzes: questions that scale with your level.
  • Fact check: every answer checked against Wikipedia.
  • Shared brain: same knowledge DB as Triviant.

SKU-004

Triviant

What if you could find someone else who is equally as passionate about the same obscure pastime as you?

Triviant is a trivia game like no other. Using AI to blend topics, it generates questions based on what the players like. Find your wheelhouse. Host your own tournaments locally via a LAN or bluetooth supporting dozens of players, or join one being hosted nearby. The more questions you answer, the better your experience gets.

  • Questions: generated from the topics you pick.
  • Online: 1v1 in a global player pool.
  • Local: 3+ players over bluetooth.

SKU-005

Eldr

A private messenger for people and their AI.

A private messenger for people and their AI. Every message encrypted against today's networks and tomorrow's quantum computers, every AI labeled and on a human-held leash. Self-hostable, open source, decentralized.

  • Encryption: post-quantum for every message.
  • Labeled AI: every model cryptographically tagged.
  • Hosting: self-hostable and open source.

SKU-006

ROI Calculator

Find the sweet spot between cost and performance.

While scoping the service offerings I needed a calculator for ROI on particular models and which hardware they run on, so I built it. Find the sweet spot between cost and performance, using cutting-edge open-source models to offset the API costs of frontier models.

  • Models: compare open-source against frontier APIs.
  • Hardware: see what a given model needs to run.
  • Math: cost versus performance in one place.

SKU-007

Mobile Operating System Integrated Solutions (M.O.S.I.S)

Free, open source, local peer to peer device sharing.

A free, open source, local peer-to-peer device sharing protocol. A complete rebuild of the venture that started it all: I lost the college code but kept the idea. I used it as a benchmark to see what Fable could do.

  • Secure: pairing via TLS 1.3.
  • Share: input, files, and clipboards.
  • Seamless: cast your computer to your phone, or your computer to your TV.

SKU-008

A Custom Website

A small business site powered by a Google Sheet.

A small business site for owners who live in spreadsheets. They run on Google Workspace and Facebook, with no time to learn a new tool. So I built them a site powered by a Google Sheet: simple tables that automagically propagate to the web.

  • Editing: owners update a Google Sheet, nothing new to learn.
  • Freshness: daily specials and menus stay current.
  • Reach: customers find them without Facebook.

SKU-009

Game Porting Project

Windows games running on my Mac, a weekend at a time.

A weekend project getting Lord of the Rings Online, Fallout 76, and Counter Strike 2 running on my Mac. Built on open source, extensible by design. Have an old game you want to play on your Mac, reach out maybe I can help port it over for you.

SKU-010

This website

Built in Go, hosted on my tablet.

Built in Go on tight resource constraints, currently hosted on my tablet. The design system and code are on GitHub, and I can help you deploy your own. Reach out.

Writing

Lerants is my self-hosted blog, a play on my surname. Inspired by a coworker who used to joke saying "there he goes Le Ranting again." Part technical deep-dive, part how-to, partly therapeutic, entirely unfiltered. Have a gander, then come back and hire me :)
